The Pastors' Renewal Centre (PRC)

The Need:
Many programmes train leaders in basic ministry, leadership skills and biblical/theological study. But we know of no programme in Mexico dedicated to the holistic care and development of Christian leaders.

Purpose Statement:
The PASTORAL RENEWAL Centre at EL Monte seeks to provide a safe haven where Christian leaders can retreat from the demands of ministry to receive hope, encouragement and renewal, biblically based counselling and healing, and be trained to take responsibility for their own life-long learning in order to "finish well" in their God-given calling.

The Impact:
The PRC will serve Latin American pastors and spouses, para-church ministry leaders, and cross-cultural missionaries. Programme formats will vary from 2-3 days to a couple of weeks, but leaders needing more intensive counselling, extended rest or restoration, or Latino missionaries debriefing a term of service overseas, might stay longer. PRC facilities are designed for no more than 48 leaders, although larger events for up to 500 leaders can be held in conjunction with El Monte's Conference Centre. Ministry teams will combine gifted Mexican colleagues and expatriate missionaries. Our focus will be on "prevention-training", coaching/mentoring, and counselling to keep leaders healthy and minimise crises. More intensive counselling and restoration will be needed for some leaders who are struggling with depression, addictions, life-dominating sins, serious relational conflict, or painful, confusing ministry transitions.

Biblically-centred Counselling & Restoration

Renewed marital intimacy

Clarified and guarded priorities and boundaries

Development of healthy friendships and accountability

Handling the unique temptations and challenges of ministry leadership.

Healing and navigation of difficult ministry transitions and church conflicts

Recovery from depression, stress or moral failure
